DoujinPress Collaboration Books

Quality entries are accepted from even non-DP artists.  These can be B/W manga pieces or full color artwork.  Collaboration books will have their own deadlines.  Each book has a theme or series.  All involved artists will be given 5+ copies of the book for free, depending on what they submit (shipping not included).  Key artists that put in more than 25% of the book will be given a cut of the sales.  Collaboration books are mostly for promoting artists, but with the free copies it'd be easy to make some money as well.  Additional copies can be purchased at artist price (email for details).

Currently planned collaborations:
Madoka Magica (Focus on witches but main characters okay too, non-adult, color, cover by purplekecleon)
Ib (No specific focus, non-adult, color, cover by kurot)
Collaboration submissions due March 8th.

Please notify me if you are planning to submit for the books.  Collaboration submissions should be emailed to:  Questions should be emailed to  DoujinPress reserves the right to reject any submission.  Page format is JIS B5, templates are here.

If you'd like to suggest a collaboration book, please email me.

Publish and sell your doujinshi!

DoujinPress makes it possible~

There is something magical about holding a doujinshi in your hands and seeing the beautiful artwork of an obsessed fan compelled to the brink of insanity. Online scanlations and copies will never match the preserved beauty and care that goes into every book.

We make sure our authors get paid for their work, and our margins are better than any mainstream US publisher offers their own authors. We also work with authors in poorer countries and give them a boost. Doujin Press wants all talented artists to aim high and go far! We also respect the rights of license holders and only print very short runs of all doujinshi.

This is amazing! So, you take all kinds of books? Even if they're, well, rated MA? XD Also, as most of the work I do is digital, what would be the suggested DPI? Also, would there be a way to order more than 5 copies, to like, let's just say, 10? And would we have to give our address? And how much would this cost?

Hello there, DoujinPress. You may be my salvation. But that's another story. Either way! I'm starting a doujinshi (i'm the writer and my friend is the artist) but i would like to know a couple of things, if you don't mind me asking. I already sent an email, but you haven't replied yet (though i do not blame you).

- are the doujinshis written and read like a normal japanese manga, or like an english book? Just so i know how to write the script.
- if i want to make a collaboration submission, can it be like the 1st chapter of a long story? and then publish the next Doujinshi as the 2nd chapter?
- do i need to pay any sort of tax or payment in order to publish a doujinshi?
- Is there any sort of page limit?
- is there any sort of program that you recomend in order to draw the effects (like balloons, shadows, dialogues, etc...) on the doujinshi? Or is it all hand drawn?
- Will you forgive me if these questions were somewhat stupid?

Either way, i hope you manage to reply to this, or the email i sent. Thanks if you do ^^

- The style of the doujinshi is up to you, though please keep it JIS B5 size.  There are templates on the website.
- Anything is usually okay, though all entries will need to be accepted for it to be published.
- When you publish, there is no cost.
- No page limit.
- DP doesn't have any particular recommendation.  Many people draw them by hand or use MangaStudio.
- No question is stupid!

I would recommend sticking with B5, though it's not impossible to print on A4.  Either way, you might like these templates:
